GCVS recommends and offers for loan, free of charge, Chromebooks for student use. Our Chromebooks are secured and made as safe as possible for students. They include tools for teachers to monitor student activities and they come setup with services the school purchases for students to use. Because these devices are filtered and monitored, they really help keep students on track with fewer distractions.

Students can also use their own Chromebooks (we highly recommend 8GB of RAM), or they can use their own Windows or Apple based PC. These must have a current operating system capable of running the Chrome web browser (the preferred browser for the school). Other browsers are not evaluated on a regular basis but should also work.

For our Live program, a ground based broadband internet connection is required for our live voice and video classes. Fiber is excellent. Cable is good. DSL will work. Cellular data connections are not recommended. Those networks tend to be very congested and cause issues with video and audio playback depending on the area the tower you are connecting to is in. Our Flex program will work on most any broadband connection.
