Initial Registration Questions

The Kenilworth School District 38 Board of Education requires verification of KSD38 residency for students enrolling in kindergarten through eighth grade. Confirmation of KSD38 residency needs to be submitted to the school during registration and in the summer before the start of the school year.

Student Information

Name Pronunciation

Please provide some information regarding the phonetic pronunciation of your student's first and last name. This will help our teachers, staff, and administration to pronounce your student's name correctly.

Here is a couple of examples:

  • John Barowski (John Ba-ROFF-skee)
  • Emily Nguyen (Emily WIN)

This is the grade the student will be entering for the upcoming school year.

Public Library Information

We want to inform you that as residents of our district, you and members of your household are eligible to apply for library cards with either the Winnetka-Northfield Public Library or the Wilmette Public Library.

If you are interested in applying, you may use the links below to access the library card applications:

Winnetka-Northfield Library Card Application

Wilmette Library Card Application

We encourage all of our families to take advantage of the many resources and services available at our local libraries.

Additional Information

The state requires the district to collect a Home Language Survey for every new student. This information is used to count the students whose families speak a language other than English at home. It also helps to identify the students who need to be assessed for English language proficiency.

If the answer to either question is yes, the law requires the school to assess your child’s English language proficiency.

Please indicate whether your child is entering a U.S. public school for the first time or is transferring in from another public school district.

Race and Ethnicity

In order for the school to comply with federal and state regulations, we must have information about each student's ethnic background.

You will have the option to specify additional races.
