Important

The open enrollment period opens on September 15, 2024. Open enrollment for specialty schools closes on December 2, 2024. The period for all other schools closes January 15, 2025. Applications must be received by 4:30 PM on the respective closing date.

Importance of ordering school choices:
Placement is based on acceptance in order of the student preferences. If a student is placed on the waitlist for a higher choice, they will stay on the waitlist for that higher choice.

The district treats the following signature like a signature on a paper form.

I verify the above information to be correct, and I understand that completion of this form does not guarantee placement in a school. I further understand that I cannot register my child without appropriate address documentation and that only one application can be submitted per child.

I understand that a child admitted under false information is illegally enrolled and could result in disenrollment upon discovery. I further understand that it is my responsibility as the Parent/Legal Guardian to immediately inform the district of any changes to the information provided.

In the event my child is accepted, I hereby grant permission for school/education records to an accredited school as needed. My signature further indicates I have read the Open Enrollment Regulations and Guidelines.

I understand that if my child's attendance becomes a concern, their open enrollment may be revoked.

If your child does not attend an Akron Public School, please attach a copy of the Birth Certificate, a copy of the guardian's picture ID, two proofs of residency in the guardian’s name (currently dated), a copy of the IEP & MFE or ETR if applicable, and custody papers if applicable.

Applications for students already attending an APS school will need to include a copy of the guardian’s ID and proof of residency if any changes have occurred.

Completed submission of any required documents will assist in the timely processing of the application.
